Intelligence: 3 signs that you are a "high-level thinker"

Intelligence: 3 signs that you are a "high-level thinker"

Most people think in a similar way, following well-trodden paths. However, some "high-level thinkers" manage to develop entirely new ideas and thoughts.

Sometimes your thoughts just flow, and you go from one good idea to the next. Do you know those flow moments? They're not coincidence, but a scientific phenomenon. "High-order thinking" or "high-level thinking" is what it's all about and describes this state. To solve the truly big challenges of our time and develop new, innovative ideas, we need "high-level thinkers." But only a few people have the skills for this special kind of thinking. Are you one of them?

These 3 signs indicate that you are a "high-level thinker" 1. You have no prejudices

No one can know everything. And therefore, no one should have an opinion on everything. However, those who think in an average way often claim this right. This leads to prejudice. We think we know something, but actually have no idea about it.

"High-level thinkers," on the other hand, only form an opinion about something when they have enough information about it. And they are easily dissuaded from this opinion if the facts convince them otherwise. This demonstrates great self-confidence, because high-level thinkers are confident enough to accept that they are sometimes wrong and simply cannot know some things.

If you can answer these 3 questions correctly, you are considered intelligent

2. You like doing things differently than others

Our experiences make us the people we are. Many people experience similar things – they go to school, study or complete an apprenticeship, work, get married, have children, or take an annual beach vacation. These similar experiences often lead to similar thought patterns. This is why the thoughts of many average-minded people often follow the same patterns. True "out-of-the-box" thinking can only occur when we break these patterns. And the easiest way to do that is by exposing ourselves to new experiences that challenge us.

Do you live your life completely differently than most people? Do you enjoy traveling to places not listed in any travel guide or reading books most people have never even heard of? Are you interested in things that most people dismiss as futuristic nonsense? This could be a sign that you have the ability to think high-level.

3. You ask a lot of questions

High-level thinkers realize they can never know everything. Therefore, they try to absorb as much know-how as possible – and they do this by asking questions. Most average-minded people, on the other hand, believe they know much more than everyone else. That's why you constantly hear them talking instead of asking questions. If you're a high-level thinker, you have no problem admitting when you don't know something and asking about it. Only those who lack this self-confidence feel the need to pretend they already know everything.
